Hi to the class.

My blog title refers to an idea attributed (possibly erroneously) to G. B. Shaw, where he postulated that English is such a confusing language because you could phonetically spell the word "fish" as "ghoti". With the "gh" sound from the word enough, the "o" sound in the word women, and the "ti" sound in the word motion.

No, I didn't take that picture. It was the best I could do at getting a fish with a beard....

Hi Patrick. Thanks so much for letting Dr. Harris "use" your blog as a demo at the Teaching Professor Conference. I hope you are doing well and considering CSD, either speech-language pathology or audiology as a career switch! You know that it is a discipline with many job openings AND we have a shortage of males in the professions. For more info, check out www.asha.org and click on the student section. Let me hear from you/hear how you are doing. Dr. H from your old 250 online class and your fan!
